Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A young woman posing (recto); a study of a woman in green on the reverse (verso) by Simon Maris was sold in the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES auction at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2002. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 1,600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 1,792.50. Admittedly, works by Simon Maris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two young girls in the dunes in March 2000 with an auction result of NLG 23,404.00 (€ 9,956.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A young woman posing (recto); a study of a woman in green on the reverse (verso) von Simon Maris wurde im Juni 2002 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 1.600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 1.792,50 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Maris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two young girls in the dunes im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 23.404,00 (€ 9.956,60).
