Sold at the upper estimate price
In January 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Evening Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Woman, Probably Ursula Da Vezzo, Sister-In-Law Of The Artist, As Saint Catherine by Simon Vouet. The auction ended at the price of USD 150,000.00 (€ 138,966.09), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 120,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Vouet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Madonna and Child, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 504,000.00 (€ 469,667.32).
