Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Propellerfrau by Sigmar Polke was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2019. The price achieved of USD 3,615,000.00 (€ 3,280,696.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000,000.00 – 4,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sigmar Polke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dschungel (Jungle) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 27,130,000.00 (€ 24,677,096.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Propellerfrau von Sigmar Polke kam im November 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.615.000,00 (€ 3.280.696,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000.000,00 – 4.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sigmar Polke auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dschungel (Jungle) im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.130.000,00 (€ 24.677.096,60).
