Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seated Nude by Siew Hock Meng was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. It changed hands for a price of HKD 56,250.00 (€ 6,619.46) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Siew Hock Meng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Loft in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 362,500.00 (€ 41,898.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seated Nude von Siew Hock Meng wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 56.250,00 (€ 6.619,46) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Siew Hock Meng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Loft im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 362.500,00 (€ 41.898,29).
