The work Resting by Siew Hock Meng was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. The result of HKD 40,000.00 (€ 4,504.06) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Siew Hock Meng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Loft in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 362,500.00 (€ 41,898.29).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Resting von Siew Hock Meng kam im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 40.000,00 (€ 4.504,06) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Siew Hock Meng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Loft im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 362.500,00 (€ 41.898,29).
