Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Hastings by Sidney Goodwin. The price achieved of GBP 587.50 (€ 933.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sidney Goodwin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rowing ashore, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,885.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hastings von Sidney Goodwin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 587,50 (€ 933,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sidney Goodwin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rowing ashore beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.885,44) versteigert wurde.
