Auction result well in line with expectations
The work James Dean on the set of the “Giant,” Marfa, Texas by Sid Avery was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June 2010. The price achieved of USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,220.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sid Avery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cast of Oceans Eleven; Nick Conti, Jerry Lester, Joey Bishop, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Akim Tameroff, Richard Benedict, Henry Silva, Norman Fell and Clem Harvey in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,678.19).
