In February 2009 Christies in New York held the auction Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection Part II, which included the work James Dean on the set of Rebel Without a Cause, for Photo Play, 1955; and Elizabeth Taylor on the set of Giant, Marfa, Texas, 1956 by Sid Avery. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,159.06), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sid Avery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cast of Oceans Eleven; Nick Conti, Jerry Lester, Joey Bishop, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Akim Tameroff, Richard Benedict, Henry Silva, Norman Fell and Clem Harvey in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,678.19).

Im Februar 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit James Dean on the set of Rebel Without a Cause, for Photo Play, 1955; and Elizabeth Taylor on the set of Giant, Marfa, Texas, 1956 von Sid Avery zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.159,06) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sid Avery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cast of Oceans Eleven; Nick Conti, Jerry Lester, Joey Bishop, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Akim Tameroff, Richard Benedict, Henry Silva, Norman Fell and Clem Harvey im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.678,19).
