Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Carmel Highlands by Si Chen Yuan was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 27,812.50 (€ 23,569.92). Other works by Si Chen Yuan have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in August 2020 by the work Lookout Gate at USD 31,325.00 (€ 26,244.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Carmel Highlands von Si Chen Yuan im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 27.812,50 (€ 23.569,92) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Si Chen Yuan wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im August 2020 die Arbeit Lookout Gate mit USD 31.325,00 (€ 26.244,14).
