This price was achieved in the auction New Now: The Katayama Collection at Phillips in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Shinrō Ōtake have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work RETINA SHIPYARD in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,800,000.00 (€ 219,342.03).
