Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Shibata Zeshin could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection auction, the work Two woodblock prints changed hands for GBP 504.00 (€ 586.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shibata Zeshin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album Of Twelve Lacquer Paintings in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 339,750.00 (€ 251,015.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shibata Zeshin konnte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection wechselte die Arbeit Two woodblock prints für GBP 504,00 (€ 586,42) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shibata Zeshin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Album Of Twelve Lacquer Paintings im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 339.750,00 (€ 251.015,88).
