Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work An Album of Eleven Miniature Urushi-e (Lacquer Paintings) by Shibata Zeshin was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 10,200.00 (€ 11,819.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shibata Zeshin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album Of Twelve Lacquer Paintings in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 339,750.00 (€ 251,015.88).
