Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Scenes from the Noh play Takasago, 1889 by Shibata Zeshin was sold in the Japanese & Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2010. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 36,965.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shibata Zeshin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Album Of Twelve Lacquer Paintings in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 339,750.00 (€ 251,015.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Scenes from the Noh play Takasago, 1889 von Shibata Zeshin wurde im März 2010 in der Auktion Japanese & Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 36.965,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shibata Zeshin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Album Of Twelve Lacquer Paintings im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 339.750,00 (€ 251.015,88).
