Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Christies held the auction Important Japanese Art, which included the work Landscapes, Plants And Animals Of Four Seasons by Shibata Zeshin. The price achieved of USD 137,500.00 (€ 118,769.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 170,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shibata Zeshin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Album Of Twelve Lacquer Paintings, which sold at auction in September 2013 for USD 339,750.00 (€ 251,015.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Important Japanese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscapes, Plants And Animals Of Four Seasons von Shibata Zeshin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 118.769,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 120.000,00 – 170.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Shibata Zeshin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Album Of Twelve Lacquer Paintings beobachtet, die im September 2013 für USD 339.750,00 (€ 251.015,88) versteigert wurde.
