Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Christies held the auction Important Japanese Art, which included the work Anthropomorphic Turtles Playing by Shibata Zeshin. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,594.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shibata Zeshin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album Of Twelve Lacquer Paintings in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 339,750.00 (€ 251,015.88).
