All half-length, facing forward, one with his hand on a book and the other two both with his hand to his face but with his head tilted at different angles, all from the same session in a suit with a cravat, platinum prints, each c.237 x 193mm, mounted (mount size c.255 mm), signed in pencil on the mount by the photographer, photographer's stamp on the reverse of the mounts, one with later ownership inscription of Michael Yeats, [c.1903]

Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Yeats: The Family Collection, which included the work Three Photographic Portraits Of W.B. Yeats by Sherril Schell. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,119.91) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sherril Schell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pattern of Light and Shadow Under Elevated R.R. Looking Up, 1930, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 7,001.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Yeats: The Family Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Photographic Portraits Of W.B. Yeats von Sherril Schell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.119,91) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sherril Schell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pattern of Light and Shadow Under Elevated R.R. Looking Up, 1930 beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 7.001,29) versteigert wurde.
