Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Rupert Brooke, circa 1905 by Sherril Schell was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2000. The price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,769.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sherril Schell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pattern of Light and Shadow Under Elevated R.R.
