A top price for Sheng Mao - as previously expected
In November 2005 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Playing The di In The Evening by Sheng Mao. The result of HKD 1,200,000.00 (€ 131,297.71) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Playing The di In The Evening is the most expensive artwork by Sheng Mao that we have observed at auctions so far.
