Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy in Running Script by Shen Zengzhi was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 70,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 275,000.00 (€ 31,038.59). Admittedly, works by Shen Zengzhi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poem In Xingshu in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 1,500,000.00 (€ 173,356.03).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Shen Zengzhi im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 70.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 275.000,00 (€ 31.038,59) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shen Zengzhi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poem In Xingshu im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.500.000,00 (€ 173.356,03).
