Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Welsh Cottages by Sheila Fell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,295.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sheila Fell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Haystacks in Winter in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 37,750.00 (€ 42,141.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Welsh Cottages von Sheila Fell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.295,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sheila Fell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Haystacks in Winter im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.750,00 (€ 42.141,74).
