Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Scenery along Tongjiang by Shao Mi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 319,500.00 (€ 26,303.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shao Mi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscapes after Old Masters in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 5,060,000.00 (€ 527,117.44).
