Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bamboo And Rock, After Ni Zan by Shao Mi was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,323.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shao Mi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscapes after Old Masters in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 5,060,000.00 (€ 527,117.44).
