Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When this work without title by Shanti Dave was auctioned at Christies in New York in March last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 7,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at USD 40,320.00 (€ 36,347.25). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Shanti Dave; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of GBP 47,750.00 (€ 56,570.85).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von Shanti Dave im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 7.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 40.320,00 (€ 36.347,25) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Shanti Dave; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 47.750,00 (€ 56.570,85).
