Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Shanti Dave achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 17,000.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shanti Dave - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 47,750.00 (€ 56,570.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shanti Dave erzielte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 18.750,00 (€ 17.000,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shanti Dave mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für GBP 47.750,00 (€ 56.570,85) versteigert wurde.
