Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Shanti Dave could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,349.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shanti Dave have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 47,750.00 (€ 56,570.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shanti Dave konnte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit Untitled für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.349,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shanti Dave auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.750,00 (€ 56.570,85).
