This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Boating in Autumn Night the most expensive artwork by Shang Xiaoyun that we have observed at auctions so far.
