A top price for Shamshad Hussain - as previously expected
This work without title by Shamshad Hussain was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2016. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,779.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Shamshad Hussain that we have observed at auctions so far.

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Shamshad Hussain wurde im März 2016 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.779,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Shamshad Hussain, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
