Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Figures) by Shamshad Hussain for USD 1,400.00 (€ 1,262.06). This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Shamshad Hussain have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,779.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Figures) von Shamshad Hussain für USD 1.400,00 (€ 1.262,06) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shamshad Hussain auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.779,63).
