Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Shaina McCoy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in June last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale auction, the work Smile sold for HKD 163,800.00 (€ 19,933.25) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shaina McCoy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Baubles, Barrettes & Beads, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 81,900.00 (€ 76,320.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shaina McCoy erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Smile für HKD 163.800,00 (€ 19.933,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shaina McCoy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Baubles, Barrettes & Beads beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 81.900,00 (€ 76.320,94) versteigert wurde.
