In October 2015 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas, which included the work Seven-Character Poem In Running Script by Sha Menghai. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 108,560.00 (€ 12,682.70), 36% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sha Menghai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 330,400.00 (€ 38,184.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2015 führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seven-Character Poem In Running Script von Sha Menghai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 108.560,00 (€ 12.682,70) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sha Menghai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 330.400,00 (€ 38.184,55) versteigert wurde.
