Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy In Xingshu by Sha Menghai. The price achieved of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 10,956.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sha Menghai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 330,400.00 (€ 38,184.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Xingshu von Sha Menghai zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 10.956,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sha Menghai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 330.400,00 (€ 38.184,55) versteigert wurde.
