A top price for Seth Eastman - as previously expected
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection, which included the work Striking the Post by Seth Eastman. The price achieved of USD 52,920.00 (€ 49,315.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Striking the Post is the most expensive artwork by Seth Eastman that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Striking the Post von Seth Eastman zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 49.315,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Striking the Post das teuerste Kunstwerk von Seth Eastman, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
