In March 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Women In A Lush Landscape) by Senaka Senanayake. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 14,021.31), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Senaka Senanayake - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Acrobats), which sold at auction in March 2019 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,965.09).

Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Women In A Lush Landscape) von Senaka Senanayake zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 14.021,31) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Senaka Senanayake mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Acrobats) beobachtet, die im März 2019 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.965,09) versteigert wurde.
