Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (Abstract figures wearing hats) by Senaka Senanayake was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Bonhams in London in November this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 15,360.00 (€ 17,798.90). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Senaka Senanayake - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Acrobats), which sold at auction in March 2019 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,965.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Abstract figures wearing hats) von Senaka Senanayake wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 15.360,00 (€ 17.798,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Senaka Senanayake mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Acrobats) beobachtet, die im März 2019 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.965,09) versteigert wurde.
