This artwork by Senaka Senanayake achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2016. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Bathers) sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,656.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Senaka Senanayake - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Acrobats), which sold at auction in March 2019 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,965.09).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Senaka Senanayake erzielte im März 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Bathers) für USD 21.250,00 (€ 18.656,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Senaka Senanayake mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Acrobats) beobachtet, die im März 2019 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.965,09) versteigert wurde.
