Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Paddy Growers by Senaka Senanayake was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2017. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,551.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Senaka Senanayake have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Acrobats) in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,965.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Paddy Growers von Senaka Senanayake wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.551,47) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Senaka Senanayake auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Acrobats) im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.965,09).
