The work Boys Bathing By Moonlight With Eton College Beyond by Sebastian Pether was sold in the British Pictures 1500-1850 auction at Christies in London in June 2006. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,550.09). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sebastian Pether - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vesuvius erupting by moonlight, which sold at auction in July last year for GBP 20,400.00 (€ 24,361.22).

Die Arbeit Boys Bathing By Moonlight With Eton College Beyond von Sebastian Pether wurde im Juni 2006 in der Auktion British Pictures 1500-1850 bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.550,09) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Sebastian Pether mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vesuvius erupting by moonlight beobachtet, die im Juli letzten Jahres für GBP 20.400,00 (€ 24.361,22) versteigert wurde.
