Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (3 Of 4) by Sean Shanahan was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,667.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sean Shanahan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,550.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (3 Of 4) von Sean Shanahan kam im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.667,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sean Shanahan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.550,35) versteigert wurde.
