Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Ireland / France: Art & Literature, which included the work Portrait of Éamon de Valera | Portrait d'Éamon de Valera by Sean O'Sullivan. It changed hands for a price of EUR 2,772.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sean O'Sullivan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work James Joyce in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,267.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Ireland / France: Art & Literature durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Éamon de Valera | Portrait d'Éamon de Valera von Sean O'Sullivan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 2.772,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sean O'Sullivan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit James Joyce im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.267,70).
