Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Éamon De Valera by Sean O'Sullivan was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,080.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sean O'Sullivan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work James Joyce, which sold at auction in May 2006 for GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,267.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Éamon De Valera von Sean O'Sullivan wurde im September 2016 in der Auktion Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.080,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sean O'Sullivan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit James Joyce beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.267,70) versteigert wurde.
