Auction result well in line with expectations

(20.3 x 17.8 cm) framed 13 x 12 1/4 x 1 in. by Scott Prior was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art | Bonhams Skinner auction at Bonhams in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,083.75 (€ 996.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Scott Prior - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nanny and Max, which sold at auction in July 2007 for USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,625.63).

Die Arbeit Fairgrounds After a Storm 8 x 7 in. (20.3 x 17.8 cm) framed 13 x 12 1/4 x 1 in. von Scott Prior wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.083,75 (€ 996,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Scott Prior mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nanny and Max beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für USD 3.600,00 (€ 2.625,63) versteigert wurde.
