Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings, which included the work Cattle in a landscape by a cottage, with ruins beyond by Sawrey Gilpin. The price achieved of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,379.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sawrey Gilpin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hawking in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,500.00 (€ 118,321.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cattle in a landscape by a cottage, with ruins beyond von Sawrey Gilpin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.379,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sawrey Gilpin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hawking im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 84.500,00 (€ 118.321,86).
