Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait Of Joan by Saul Baizerman was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 453.23). Admittedly, works by Saul Baizerman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Portrait in August 2006 with an auction result of USD 5,400.00 (€ 4,221.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of Joan von Saul Baizerman im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 500,00 (€ 453,23) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Saul Baizerman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-Portrait im August 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.400,00 (€ 4.221,06).
