A top price for Sarah Slappey
This artwork by Sarah Slappey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in December last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle auction, the work Black Pearls II sold for HKD 1,008,000.00 (€ 120,794.17) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. This high result makes Black Pearls II the most expensive artwork by Sarah Slappey that we have observed at auctions so far.
