Despite a disappointment, a good price for Sara Barker
When the work Love Letter by Sara Barker was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 567.00 (€ 667.02). Despite this disappointing result, Love Letter is the most expensive artwork by Sara Barker that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Sara Barker
Als die Arbeit Love Letter von Sara Barker im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 567,00 (€ 667,02) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Love Letter das teuerste Kunstwerk von Sara Barker, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
