Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Construction And Installation Of 12 Forms Of 75 X 75 Cm. Organized In Two Spaces. by Santiago Sierra was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,035.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Santiago Sierra achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 3000 Huecos (3000 Hollows) in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 23,125.00 (€ 27,036.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Construction And Installation Of 12 Forms Of 75 X 75 Cm. Organized In Two Spaces. von Santiago Sierra im April 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.035,76) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Santiago Sierra erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 3000 Huecos (3000 Hollows) im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.125,00 (€ 27.036,88).
