The work Jug of Wild Flowers by Sandy Murphy was worth GBP 940.00 (€ 1,372.96) to a buyer in October 2003. This price was achieved in the auction 20TH C BRIT ART INC. WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF HILDA CARLINE at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 300.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sandy Murphy; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Yellow Jug sold at auction in July 2003 with the realized price of GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,535.80).
