Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work (Figures by a River) by Samuel Thomas Gill. The price achieved of AUD 3,690.00 (€ 2,201.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Thomas Gill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Princes Bridge, Melbourne, c.1854 in November 2020 with an auction result of AUD 79,950.00 (€ 66,914.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit (Figures by a River) von Samuel Thomas Gill zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.690,00 (€ 2.201,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Thomas Gill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Princes Bridge, Melbourne, c.1854 im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 79.950,00 (€ 66.914,96).
