Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Samuel Thomas Gill could be acquired at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Fred and Elinor Wrobel Collection Online auction, the work Natives of South Australia changed hands for AUD 1,968.00 (€ 1,199.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Thomas Gill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Princes Bridge, Melbourne, c.1854 in November 2020 with an auction result of AUD 79,950.00 (€ 66,914.96).
