Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Young Australia by Samuel Thomas Gill was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 6,480.00 (€ 3,341.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Thomas Gill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Princes Bridge, Melbourne, c.1854 in November 2020 with an auction result of AUD 79,950.00 (€ 66,914.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Young Australia von Samuel Thomas Gill kam im November 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion.
